What We Make - What They Are & What They Contain
On Demand CDs
The process of making compact discs individually or in small numbers as opposed to mass manufacturing.
Achieved by holding the album contents, (audio & data) in a specialized electronic format, online.
Enables the manufacture of competitively priced, retail quality albums in look, sound and feel. Therefore no physical stock is required.
MP3 & iTunes Downloads
We provide the data for the major download websites to sell on our behalf.
Print On Demand
If your business requires printed materials outside of music related products in small numbers we can supply this at a competitive price.
The Benefits Of Our System
All material recorded by an artist, both back catalogue & current, can be made available at no cost.
Mood provide a standard no cost “enhanced data” package with each album or a bespoke 'charged for' item.
Back catalogue graphics and audio can be re-modelled or added to if required, increasing their perceived and actual value.
The artist or record label out-sources the manufacture and online distribution of the product and incurs no, or little cost.
The artist’s or label’s role lies in marketing and promoting the material and providing enhancements.
Royalties are paid quarterly
The artist or label maintains its copyright, we do not want it, nor under any circumstances will we request it, accept it or allow it to be assigned to us
The Extras On The Disc Are Known As - Enhanced Data
Enhanced data is a screen with clickable options within a pre-defined framework. This provides a multi media experience of an artist and an album within the confines of a PC. Enhanced data falls into four main categories:
Video: On board video within its own media player.
Words & Pictures: Add text & galleries to suit, or mix the two.
Clickable Links & Email: Add instant referrals & contact.
Instant Free Stuff: No downloading required for printable or electronic giveaways, it’s all on the disc.
And A Little more Detail
Video - Within the limits of disc space we can add promotional or standalone gig, or festival, music videos and trailers for other product or events. We can also compress the video and output it onto a small screen within the package to save space and to allow for a premium full size product to be ordered.
Words - Examples of 'Words' include biographies, discographies, reviews by respected industry writers or DJs and interviews. It can even act as a platform for a band’s political views.
If it can be written, it can be published in this section.
Pictures - Quality digital photographs can be placed as thumbnails in a number of themed galleries and then clicked on to enlarge.
Clickable Links & Email - A links page enables you to take your fans direct to websites of your choice to view items or articles, sign up for mailing lists or discussion groups or to purchase other products. An email link opens their email programme allowing direct contact with you. Both of these require little effort by a fan prompting impulse contact. You can also provide names, telephone numbers and addresses so that you can be contacted.
Instant Free Stuff - Items such as printable T shirts, gig tickets, programmes, posters and calendars, as well as screen savers and ringtones, can be embedded in the enhanced data. These can then be printed out directly, used on the customers PC, or downloaded onto a mobile phone.
A Quick Summary So Far
The multi media range that can be included in enhanced data, and the way in which it can be mixed, provides considerably more scope than a pure audio disc alone. In fact it opens up a whole new world of possibilities for any artist or label considering using 'On Demand', giving major advantages over any current mass manufactured competition.
And To Finish - Here Are Some FAQs
Who Are We?
Mood Music stands for Music Online On Demand. We were established in 2002.
What We Do?
We manage, design & produce music or mixed format albums to a world wide market.
How Do We Do It?
We take the audio, on CD body print and the CD cover print in either electronic or tangible format , convert the latter, and hold it as data on our system, from which we manufacture the Compact Discs. When a customer goes online they will order and pay for a copy of a particular CD. It will be mailed out to them in protective packaging, normally within 48 hours. CDs are only created when an order is placed. No physical stock involved.
What’s Special About Our Product?
In addition to the musical content and the normal booklet, accompanying a CD, we add enhanced packages to an album.
What’s The Cost?
Nothing or very little! You, the artists or record company, may lodge your product with us, subject to our agreement, for us to manufacture and retail. We will also provide prepaid product to third party retailers if required.
You Do NOT Surrender Your Copyright!
We do not prevent you mass producing your own albums, we can act as “an addition to, rather than a replacement for “
What’s In It For Mood Music?
We only make money on product that we sell, so we have a major incentive to to be selective and shift units! We try to spot 'winners' but remember, no one is foolproof. If you think your product deserves our attention then please contact us on the contacts page.
And The MCPS & Record Company Royalties?
MCPS royalties are taken care of under our AP1 agreement for CDs or by the download sites in respect of MP3s. We pay the same generous but fixed royalty rate to owners of the rights of the material.
What Are ISRC Codes?
We are a member of the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI). With this ability all of the products we produce now have ISRC codes (International Standard Recording Code) embedded in to the audio CD tracks. This allows radio stations to log the royalties to the appropriate owners and so generates a separate revenue.
How Do I Know The Numbers Are Right & How Do I Get Paid?
Sales & Royalty reports are sent out quarterly along with your payment.
What Types Of Music Do You Deal With?
We deal in any genre and have “labels” applicable to each.
How Do I Join The System?
If we like your product and agree to sell it, we will provide you with a contract to sign and return. Then we will require your audio (glass master or decent quality CD) and any artwork in one of a number of formats. In order to keep the entry cost non existent or low, we will require your help in submitting the 'data' according to our specification. Below is a PDF document giving you the relevant details on CD artwork submission.
